I am inspired by the architectural vision of Frank Lloyd Wright and the building techniques that shape many structures across the United States. His philosophy—that form and function must exist together—guides my approach to woodworking.

In my studio, I bring this spirit into the kitchen through the creation of unique, handcrafted boards. Each piece is designed to be both practical and beautiful, a balance of utility and artistry. I use a block and strip inlay process, working only with natural hardwoods to highlight the inherent character of the wood.

The result is a collection of kitchen boards that are one of a kind—pieces that not only serve daily use but also reflect timeless design, harmony, and craftsmanship.

I am a self-taught woodworker who has been creating since 1992, with more than 30 years of experience shaping wood into functional works of art. My passion for woodworking grew from a love of well-crafted objects and the enduring influence of the Arts & Crafts movement. Over the years, I have developed a distinct style that emphasizes clean lines, geometric balance, and the natural beauty of hardwoods.

Through my business, Kitchen Boards by Thomas Tampa, I focus on making functional kitchen art that celebrates both tradition and innovation. Each board is built to be durable enough for daily use while embodying the spirit of design that inspires me most—beauty with purpose.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to properly care for and maintain the kitchen board. A care card was given at time of purchase. No warranty against splitting, warping, or cracking. Dishwashing and soaking is not advisable as damage will occur.
